BRIEF: Package forces evacuation of post office in east Fort Worth

Nov 13, 2012 (Fort Worth Star-Telegram - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- FORT WORTH _ A suspicious package at an east Fort Worth post office has forced authorities to evacuate a building and call in a bomb squad, a fire official said.


A robot was sent in to check on the package which was found shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday at the post office, 4650 E. Rosedale St.

Authorities have evacuated the post office, according to KXAS Channel 5.

The station also reported that traffic in front of the building has been diverted as the bomb squad works the call.

Battalion Chief Richard Harrison said Tuesday that the post office has been the scene of two previous suspicious packages in recent months, but no explosive devices were found.
