BRIEF: Pleasantville intersection cordoned of as part of police investigation in possible hostage situation

Nov 13, 2012 (The Press of Atlantic City - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The intersection of West Reading Avenue and North Main Street in Pleasantville has been cordoned off as part of an ongoing police investigation into a possible hostage situation Police said they received a call this morning about a potential hostage situation, but had not been able to confirm anyone was being held against their will.


A robot was used to make entry into the home. Members of the Atlantic County Emergency Response Team were also seen going into a building at about 12:15 p.m.

Police are meeting and are expected to release more information soon.

Police have been at the scene for nearly an hour.
