Wynright Celebrates 40th Anniversary with Strong Growth
ELK GROVE, Ill. --(Business Wire)--
Wynright
Corporation, a leading independent, U.S.-based provider of intelligent
material handling systems, today announced that 2012 was a watershed
year for the company, highlighted by the introduction of several
material handling innovations.
Wynright's bookings of large, complex systems increased by more than
nine percent in 2012. Since the recession of 2008, the company has
achieved 15 percent growth compounded year over year, driven by the
explosion in eCommerce and the distribution challenges it presents for
multi-channel retailers. Much of Wynright's growth had been driven by a
125 percent increase in sales of Wynright's robotic systems in 2011.
That sustained growth led Modern Materials Handling magazine to
rank Wynright 17th among the world's top 20 material handling
companies in its 2012 survey.
In 2012, Wynright launched several new products and systems including:
-
Autoroll+™
- A next generation Motor Driven Roller (MDR) conveyor that connects
all MDR conveyors in a specific area of a warehouse or distribution
center through an Ethernet network instead of hard wiring each zone
back to a programmable logic controller (PLC).
-
Hybrid
Light and Voice eFulfillment - A multi-modal eFulfillment system
that provides the user with a visual representation of required
product, followed by structured voice instructions to complete the
pick.
-
Visual
Sort - A customized system that
enables more efficient tracking and restocking of returned inventory
in distribution centers.
-
Automotion™
AS- 20 - A high-speed sliding shoe sortation conveyor designed to
help distribution centers to improve sortation speed rates by up to 25
percent.
Wynright also noted several other prominent achievements that took place
in the past year. In September, the company successfully launched
Wynright Client Care, a new business unit dedicated to providing
aftermarket value-added services designed to enhance its clients'
post-implementation experience. In November it earned the new Certified
Robot Integrator designation from the prestigious Robotic
Industries Association (RIA), the industry's foremost trade group.
It also expanded and fortified the robotics and software and controls
business units, and received patent protection for its unique Automated
Robotic Truck Loader/Unloader - all reflecting its focus on the future
of the materials handling industry.
"Advancements in retail and eCommerce distribution channels continue to
drive the automation and innovation that Wynright brings," said Kevin
Ambrose, Chief Executive Officer of Wynright. "For 40 years, we have
developed and implemented innovative material handling designs
throughout the supply chain. With more than 200 engineers, integrators
and project managers on the Wynright team, we remain dedicated to
creating customized solutions and providing the expertise and support
necessary to delivering improved and sustainable performance for our
client's distribution centers."
