CSR µEnergy® Chip Powers Mad Catz® GameSmart Mobile Gaming Accessories

CSR (News - Alert) plc (LSE: CSR; NASDAQ: CSRE) today announced that its µEnergy™ platform for Bluetooth v4.0 low energy connectivity is powering several next-generation wireless game controller and mouse products in the new Mad Catz GameSmart™ mobile gaming accessory product family. Mad Catz is using this CSR Bluetooth Smart™ solution to provide the GameSmart technology powering its new C.T.R.L.^R Wireless GamePad, R.A.T.^M Wireless Mobile Gaming Mouse and M.O.U.S.⁹ Wireless Mouse, which are designed to meet the high expectations of gamers wanting controller and console-like accessory functionality for their tablets and mobile/smart devices.

Mad Catz will be demonstrating the C.T.R.L.^R Wireless GamePad product at the CSR booth [Hall 6 Stand 6D35] during Mobile World Congress, using it to wirelessly interact with Windows 8 tablet games.

The single-chip CSR1011™ µEnergy device Mad Catz chose provides not only the convenient Bluetooth low energy wireless connectivity for these new GameSmart accessories, but also all the functionality needed to rapidly detect and process the multiple, fast-paced digital and analogue inputs that result from gamers manipulating the controller and mice. It offers a complete, optimised, low-energy solution, with RF, baseband, microcontroller, qualified Bluetooth v4.0 stack and the ability to run a customer application.
