KUKA Robotics Corporation to Unveil KR QUANTEC Shelf-mount Series of Robots

KUKA Robotics officials have confirmed their participation at NPE taking place from April 2nd - 5th, 2012. The company is planning to debut their new KR QUANTEC Shelf-mount Series of Robots in this event.

According to the company, their KR QUANTEC is powerful, extremely stiff and precise, and yet just as streamlined a shelf-mounted robots that are barely heavier than the shelf-mounted robots of the prime class.

The KR QUANTEC K, a successor to the KR 120 R3900 Ultra, weighs 240 kg and comes with an unchanged payload capacity of 120 kg and a reach of up to 2700 mm, making it the strongest shelf-mounted robot with the highest power density.

The new QUANTEC K robots are backed by state-of-the-art drive technology and have an even greater downward reach because of its extremely low base.

In addition, this new shelf-mounted robots includes axis 2 that is located at 400 mm further forward, significantly expanding the working envelope forwards and downwards. The company has not changed the whole pattern for installation on the shelf and the flange is identical, ensuring compatibility with predecessor models.

In other news, KUKA Robotics Corporation opened up new North American headquarters building in Shelby Township, Michigan. The new facility is home to the company’s USA-based sales, applications, project engineering, service, parts, training and administrative staff, plus North American business leadership personnel.
