The iRobot Roomba 790 Comes with a Wireless Command Center

iRobot recently announced the latest update to its growing Roomba family. The newly launched Roomba 790 is no ordinary cleaning robot, according to iRobot, it happens to be their smartest robot to date. While the jury is still out on this claim, the Roomba 790 does have an impressive feature set and has been inspired by the feedback received from past iRobot customers.

Retailing for $699.99, what makes the Roomba 790 stand apart from the rest of the clique is its schedule-cleaning feature. Equipped with an advanced wireless command center, one can schedule cleanings and control the device from any corner of the house. Since, it ships with a Wireless Command Center remote control, one can also navigate the Roomba to any spot and program it to routinely clean during fixes hours. This way the Roomba 790 can clean the house without even anyone being present.

The iRobot Roomba vacuum cleaning robot removes dirt, dust and pet hair and other debris and works on carpets, hardwood, tile and linoleum floors, including in tight spots. It also features the proprietary iAdapt Responsive Cleaning Technology, which supervises the cleaning environment over 60 times per second, using numerous sensors and over 40 behaviors to amplify cleaning performance. The on board Dirt Detect  Series 2 technology makes it further functional, as it helps in cleaning the dirtiest areas with gusto.

The Roomba 790 ships with certain accessories as well. The included two virtual wall lighthouses help in setting up virtual boundaries for the device, whereas the two sets of two HEPA filters further improve the environment. It also comes bundled with a docking station, side brushes, beater brushes, and a bristle brush, along with brush cleaning tools.

“We’re constantly on the pulse of customer feedback and understand users seek flexibility,” Marc Dinee, general manager of iRobot’s Home Robots business unit, told Mashable. “The added features enable them to easily customize the cleaning experience and meet the needs of their individual homes.”
