Want to Own Your Own Giant Robotic Suit?

If you are a man or woman of a certain age, whether you hail from Japan or the United States, chances are, your childhood was filled with giant robots. Whether you were a fan of Shogun Warriors, or Voltron, or the giant robots that fill the 80s retro geek-chic book Ready Player One, you likely imagined yourself climbing into a giant suit of armor (way bigger than Iron Man’s), blasting off and fighting evil. If you were a fan of Robotech, you probably even imagined you’d get the guy or gal of your dreams, too. Now, though we can’t promise you’ll defeat your enemies or get the girl, you can own your very own robot battle suit.

That is, if you have a cool $1.35 million sitting around.

But even if you don’t have Tony Stark-level cash, you might just marvel at the handiwork of the Suidobashi Heavy Industry corporation, the Japanese company responsible for producing Kuratas. Kuratas is the dream-child of Korogo Kurata who, like yours truly, grew up with dreams of giant robots dancing (well, flying and shooting) in his head.

The ‘bot in question stands 13-feet tall and has, naturally, rocket launchers for shoulder pads and machine guns embedded in its arms. Sign me up and send me to Avengers Mansion!

It has a 30-joint exoskeleton, providing a wide range of movement, humanoid fingers for grasping objects, and four wheels, giving it a top speed of six miles per hour.

Check out the video below, and then put it on your Christmas list for Santa. But get in line, because I plan on strapping into this bad boy and fighting some aliens.
